From provocation to form.
The Provo movement emerged in Amsterdam in 1965. Roel van Duijn, Rob Stolk and Robert Jasper Grooveld brought anarchist politics into public space through street actions, publications and proposals for everyday life.
Inspired by the movement’s posters, the placards carried during protests and its independent publications, we created PROVO SANS. An ultra-condensed display family shaped by a supplied lettering reference and the print culture surrounding Provo.
